He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll F. Baker and Wanda Whitaker Baker; his former wife Karen Kynaston; his son Sidney Baker; and his brothers, Wayne, Arnold and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McIntyre; his children, Sharee Binkley (Greg), James Baker (Ann), Dwain Baker and Daren Baker; and his sister Ruby O'Keeffe. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
