He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Mathiason of Fairdale, ND and Sally Mullen of Vaughn, NM; his son Michael; and his son-in-law John Tway. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth LaBarre; his daughters, Melissa Tway and Naomi Jaeger (David); his grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Tatiana Tway, Aspen and Beckett Jaeger; and his sisters, Dawn Huberty (Jim) and Sandi Lenagh (Kevin).
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Heart 'n Home Hospice, St. Clare's Food Pantry or Metro Community Services.
