He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Goitiandia and Juliana Lecona; his son Iker Martin Goitiandia; and his brothers, Martin and Benedicto.

He is survived by: his wife Coro; his daughter Nagore Goitiandia; his grandchildren, Saioa Freddoso and Xabier Freddoso; and his siblings, Matilde Goitiandia, Beatriz Goitiandia of Gernika, Bizkaia, Maria Goitiandia Amuchastegui of Boise and Sabino Goitiandia (Maria Carmen) of Caldwell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Artzai Ona, Basque Museum or Euzkaldunak.
