Christie was born June 4, 1950 in Whitefish, Montana. She was active in school, band and pep squad. She was on the ski team and worked on the ski patrol on Big Mountain. She liked to water ski and spend time with the many friends she had. She married James “Jim” Rettinger shortly after high school graduation. They have been married nearly 50 years and are the best of friends. They have always been very active and have enjoyed horseback riding, being youth group leaders, spending time with their kids and grandkids, motorcycle riding, hiking, camping and fishing. Currently, they are active in the local rock club and UTV/ATV club, as well as having an active social life with neighbors and friends.
Over the years, Christie worked as an animal control officer, ran a humane society and was the president of the Northwest Chapter of the ASPCA. She went on to spread her love as a Certified Nursing Assistant in several nursing homes, where she never failed to bring light to the lives of the elderly residents. Christie then worked as a nanny where she was a life changing force for several families.
Christie is survived by her husband Jim, children Jamie and MIcha (spouses Angel and Tanya, respectively), grandchildren Kenn (spouse Vy), Jeremiah, Riley and Ray, and great grandchild Kaitlynn.
Christie was an incredible person filled with love, fun and an unwavering sense of wonder and humor. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 5:00 pm at Montana Ave Baptist Church.
