She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorenzo Preece Allen and Mary Ellen Caulkins Allen; her husband Milton "Milt" Nielsen; and her son David Herbert. She is survived by: her children, Owen Herbert (Carol), Ben Herbert (Donnelly), Mary Lou Herbert, Paul Herbert (Rosie) and Julia Andrew (Dan). She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
