He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Eyre Jr. and Evelyn Sutherland Eyre Goerke; his stepfather Harry Goerke; his brother Mike Eyre; and his nephew Tommy Goerke.
He is survived by: his sons, John (LuAnn) of Tucson, Arizona, David (Sonia) of Parker, Colorado and Daniel (Laurie) of Buhl; his wife Bonnie Haynes; his daughter Julie Frings (Mike) of Buhl; his siblings, Alberta Beguhl of Jerome, Helen Goerke of Caldwell, Margaret Goerke of Ontario, Oregon and Tom Goerke (Larisa) of Grand Junction, Colorado; and his sister-in-law Edwena Eyre of Boise. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
