He was predeceased by: his parent Edward Shaffer of Ford City; and his brothers, William Shaffer and Joseph Shaffer. He is survived by: his parent Mary Frerotte Shaffer of Ford City; his wife Elaine Shaffer (Edwards); his children, Julie Foley of Madison, VA. and Robert William Shaffer of Mountain Home, ID; and his father-in-law Ross Edwards of Kittanning. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
