Melissa Rene Brodt Obituary
Obituary for Melissa Rene Brodt
Melissa Rene Brodt, a courageous and adventurous spirit, passed away on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at
the age of 54 outside of Burley, Idaho from an unexpected auto collision. Born on March 7th, 1970 in
Denver, Colorado Melissa's journey through life was marked by a relentless pursuit of passion and
purpose. Her parents JoEllyn and Les Michel raised Melissa in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, where she loved
to play with her brothers, sisters, and neighbors. Whether it be swinging off of ropes in the big red family
barn, tenaciously exploring the forests in her backyard, cheerleading for the local football team, or helping
out a childhood friend in need, these experiences instilled her with a small-town, down-to-earth spirit that
shaped her into a brave and respectable young woman.
After graduating in 1988 from Webb High School, and attending some college courses in (Eau Claire),
Melissa valiantly booked her first flight out of Wisconsin. This leap of courage led her heart to Maui,
Hawaii, where she fell in love with the culture and started fearlessly selling flowers to resort guests. In
Maui, she met her beloved husband, Jason, with whom she shared a profound and enduring love. Their
first child, Hunter, was born in Maui, and Melissa embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood with
grace and determination. Driven by a deep desire to provide a bright future for her family, Melissa guided
her loved ones on a path that traversed across various cities and states. From Nashville to Long Beach,
Melissa had the pursuit of creating a safe haven where her children, Hunter and Luke, could flourish and
thrive. Melissa eventually settled in Meridian, Idaho, marking the start of a new journey. Melissa’s
entrepreneurial and giving spirit dazzled brightly as she dived headfirst into the business world, first
opening The Art of Framing in Meridian, and then Galerie Belle Ame in Eagle. Melissa was also a part of
the local Idaho Songwriters association, where she devotedly helped book musicians, facilitate events,
and support them with anything she could get her loving hands on. Throughout these ventures, Melissa
showcased the talents of local and nationally recognized artists while also building a vibrant community
that resonated with her infectious energy and passion for artistry. As the visionary founder of the Boise
Revival Project, Melissa's commitment to collaboration and community-building shined brilliantly. In the
pursuit of revitalizing the Downtown Boise community, Melissa brought together musicians, restaurateurs,
and creatives while simultaneously weaving a colorful tapestry of unity and shared purpose that she will
forever be remembered for. Melissa guided her friends and family in achieving their real estate goals with
Coldwell Banker, and the Idaho Real Estate Shop for many years. In the months before her passing,
Melissa had committed to pursuing her lifelong dream of going full-time into the world of real estate. She
was truly dedicated and ready to give it her all in this passion and was looking forward to the freedom of
spending time with her future grandchildren whenever and wherever she desired. Melissa was intensely
passionate about cooking, baking, and miraculously whipping up gourmet, love-filled meals for her family
and friends, and would always make sure there were leftovers to take home afterward. Melissa had a
strong connection with nature and spent as much time as she could outside in the great outdoors. She
loved to go boating, fishing, skiing, biking, camping, hiking, gardening, paddle boarding, and going on
walks with her Golden Retrievers Leroy (King Leroy of Idaho) and Lucille (Lucy). Melissa was profoundly
proud of her two sons, Hunter and Luke, who were the heart and soul of her world. She also cherished
spending time with her family Luke, Hunter, Tori, Duane, Cameron, Jazmyn, Shayn, and Aspyn in and
around their home in the North End of Boise. Melissa will always be remembered for having a listening
heart and genuinely giving all she could to anyone she met. Melissa was always looking for the good in
others and selflessly put those she loved first. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and
unwavering devotion to her family. Melissa is survived by her two sons Hunter and Luke Brodt (Tori Brodt
and Emily Lomonaco), partner Duane Paris, daughter Jazmyn Davis (Cameron Davis, Shayn Davis,
Aspyn Davis) Mother JoEllyn Michel, Father Les Michel, three sisters and six brothers (in order of DOB)
Sylvia Davidson (Andy Davidson), Scott Michel (Debbie Michel), Marcella Zak, John Michel, Jennifer
Bacon (Mark Bacon), Darwin Michel, Robert Michel (Amy Michel) Brian Michel (Katrina Michel, Elizabeth
Michel, Amelia Michel) and Jarrett Michel along with a host of relatives and friends who cherished her
warm smile, giving heart, and boundless spirit. A celebration of life for Melissa will be held on Saturday,
June 15th at 11 am at Relyea Funeral Chapel in Boise, ID. There will also be a reception at the
agricultural pavilion at Julia Davis Park on Saturday, June 15th at 3 PM. In honor of Melissa's memory,
her family kindly requests that donations be made to Go Fund Me (Link to Donate on Go Fund Me - bit.ly/

her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know, and love Melissa Rene
Brodt in her journey through life.
