She was predeceased by: her parents, Thayne Gneiting and Colleen Gneiting; her brothers, Zane "Ricky" Gneiting and Brad Gneiting; and her nephew Kyle Gneiting.

She is survived by: her husband Dean Kirkpatrick; her children, Trina Heiner (Kevin) of Blackfoot, Idaho, Mindy Gerdes (Jared) of Sweet Home, Oregon, Lori Smith (Michael) of Syracuse, Utah, Marilyn Cobbley (Ryan) of Blackfoot, Kevin of Blackfoot and Shawn Kirkpatrick (Lashay) of Blackfoot; and her siblings, Clint Gneiting (Valorie) and Terese Gneiting (Dave). She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was awarded the Zonta "Women of Achievement Award" first in 2011 for her work at the Historical Society and later in 2017 for her contributions to The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
