He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy A. Hjelm and Melva Fern Hjelm; his parents-in-law, Duane K and Evelyn V. Packer; his brother Roy A. Hjelm Jr.; his sister-in-law Cathy Hjelm; and his pet Jack.
He is survived by: his wife Kathi; his children, Amber Hawker (Brandon) and Mathew Cody Hjelm (Soncere); his grandchildren, Larz Hawker Alix (Liz Barlow), Niya Hawker, Will Hawker, Trystin Young-Saurey (Camron), Sydra Rodriguez Kaden Hjelm (Thomas), Tyler Young Kyra Hjelm (Kristina), Keldrah Young (Jacob Jackman) and Packer Von Hjelm; and his great grandchildren, Raelyn and Paris Young.
