He was predeceased by: his father David Benjamin Hansen Sr.; his grandfather Ben (Teaching); his eternal sweetheart Lela; and his mother Faun Hansen. He is survived by: his children, David Hansen (Barbara) of Blackfoot, Idaho, Lyle Hansen (Lanette) of Blackfoot, Idaho and Sheryl Hansen of Blackfoot, Idaho; and his siblings, Jim Hansen (Kathy), Vida Hulet and Donna Parrish. He is also survived by seven grandsons, one granddaughter and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
