He was predeceased by: his parents, Reed Chase Murdoch and Ruth Grover Murdoch; his siblings, Thomas Murdoch and Sharon Berger; his daughter-in-law Latona; his siblings-in-law, Colleen Forsberg and Don Housley; and his grandson Weston Kawano.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Murdoch of Little Rock, Michael Murdoch (Denise) of Kennewick, Ken Murdoch (Teresa) of Laurin, James Murdoch (LaVasha) of Kittitas and Jolyn Kawano (Gary) of Powell, Wyoming; his sister Gerrianne Miskin (Kaylen); and his siblings-in-law, Gene Berger, Larry Housley (Kathy), Richard Housley (Julie), William Forsberg (Donna) and Barbara Housley. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
