He was predeceased by: his parents, Ephraim Ivan Lawson and Josephine Carpenter Lawson; his siblings, Lynn Ivan Lawson, Mary Green and Yvonne Keller; his siblings-in-law, Kay Lawson, Dale Green and Wayne Keller; his former wife Jeanette Kinghorn Mathews; his nieces, Nancy Denning and Rochelle Green; and his great grandchild Gracie Homer.
He is survived by: his sons, Kirk Norman Lawson (Tracy) of Plain City, Utah and Jerry Ivan Lawson of Draper, Utah; his wife Karla Marie Butikofer Lawson; his children, Stephan Lawson (Julie) of Idaho Falls, Kristine Lawson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jason Lawson (Heather) of Idaho Falls and Tiffany Hatch (Sean) of Idaho Falls; and his stepsons, Trevor Arnold (Sue) of Ririe, Idaho, Tyrone Arnold (Margaret) of Santa Rosa, California, Tremayne Arnold (Kirsten) of Meridian, Idaho and Sheridan Arnold of Idaho Falls. He is also survived by his grandmother and aunts.
In June 2015, Norm was diagnosed with dementia and later with Parkinson's disease.
