He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Gibson (Beanie) and Hettie Gibson Sowers; his stepfather Wilmot "Bill" Sowers; his brothers, Charles, Jerry and John Gibson; his great-niece Sierra Martsch; and his great-nephew Corbin Martsch.
He is survived by: his sisters, Carla Martsch (Dan) and Linda Ketterling (Terry); and his wife Cindy K Anderson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
