She was predeceased by: her parents, Manfred Powelka and Viola Powelka (Burda); her husband John Chesney; her siblings, Anita Meade and Leroy Powelka; and her niece Leanne.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Eaton (Duane) of Dubuque and David Chesney (Randa) of Dubuque; and her grandchildren, Heather Pagano (Brian) of San Jose, CA, Brooke Chesney (Brian Kerr) of O'Fallon, IL, Garrett Eaton (Korreena Kamps) of Sun Prairie, WI and Shelby Eaton (David Haldane) of Bettendorf, IA..
