He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Carstens and Maxine Carstens (Farley); and his brother Rick. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Dietz; his children, Scott Harms (Barb) of Cedar Rapids, Brenda Leonard (Kevin) of Wyoming, Kirt Carstens (Jacque) of Arnolds Park and Dana Clark (Adam) of Brandon; his grandchildren, Katie (Seth), Allison (Ryan), Jenna (Brian), Megan Harms, Kole Carstens and Carly Carstens; and his great grandchild Collins McCord.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Otter Creek Animal Shelter or Jones County Animal Welfare Friends in his honor.
