He was predeceased by: his father Jerry Elgin; his grandparents, Peter, Florrine Elgin, Virginette Link and Andrew Bildstein; his stepgrandfather Herbert Link; and his father-in-law Fredrick Tousley.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Elgin (Tousley) of Worthington; his daughters, Kendra Elgin (Luke Zortman) of Council Bluffs and Kaylee Elgin (Logan Marsden) of Manchester; his mother Andrea Klaren (Bildstein); his stepfather William "Bill" Klaren of Worthington; his siblings, Rhonda Becker (Alan) of Earlville, Rebecca Stelken (Loras) of Hopkinton, Richard Klaren (Erin) of Davis Junction, IL, Russell Klaren (Toni) of Blue Grass and Robert Klaren (Michelle) of Peosta; his mother-in-law Carol Tousley (Tom Schiltz); his brother-in-law Alan (Tracy Tousley); and his caregiver Dr. Roewes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and also a great niece and nephew.
