She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Hoffmann and Leona Hoffmann (Meyer); her daughter Lori Ann Fortmann; her grandson Nicholas Joseph Bries; her parents-in-law, Ralph and Anna Fortmann; her siblings, Martha Kremer (George), Mabel Kremer (John), Hazel Mullis (George), Bernice Mai (Melvin), Donald Hoffmann (Bernadine) and Monroe Hoffmann (Ardella); and her fathers-in-law, Gilbert Fortmann, Emil Fortmann and Sylvester Fortman (Marcella).

She is survived by: her husband Merlin P. Fortmann; her great grandchild Nicole; her daughter Julie Bries (Steve) of Worthington; her grandson Patrick Bries (Holly); her great grandchild Leah; her grandchildren, Daniel Bries, Jessica Bries and Kristi Bries; her son Jerry Fortmann (Renee); her granddaughter Melissa Ibarra (Dakota Dryden); her great grandchildren, Jasmine, Jocelyn and Gemma; her grandson Anthony Fortmann (Kristen); her great grandchildren, Kira, Ella, Abel, Autumn and Hunter; and her sister-in-law Eileen Fortmann. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
