He is survived by: his brother Pat; his children, David Hess of Chandler, AZ, Casey Hess (Becky) of Earlville and Jennifer Akerberg (Brian) of Ely; his grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Lexis, Easton and Emmett; his siblings, LuAnn Putz (Pat) of Dyersville and Kenneth Hess of Prairie; his sister-in-law Dianne Hess of Dyersville; and his half-siblings, Jane Pettinger and Dick Hess (Nancy).
