He was predeceased by: his mother Melanie Vandemark (Handke); his sister Daniele "Dottie" Vandemark; and his grandparents, Freeman, Iva Vandemark and Edward Handke.
He is survived by: his father Dan Vandemark (Paula) of Woodbine; his sons, Devin Vandemark of Woodbine and Noah Vandemark of Essex, Iowa; his sister Laurie (Brian Doyle); his close friend Amber Swift of Sioux Falls; his grandparents, Ila Handke of Glenwood, Richard, Juanita Steffen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kristi Vandemark (Justin Saggs) of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Danny Vandemark of Woodbine; and his stepbrother Tim Steffen (Kelly) of Sierra Vista, Arizona. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Scott was able to help many people with his generous gift of organ and tissue donation.
