He was predeceased by: his parents, Karol Kersten and Lois Kersten (Netsch). He is survived by: his wife Sarah Kersten of Woodbine, Iowa; his children, Brigit Kuhl (Dave) of Mapleton, Jessica Larson (Chris) of Scribner and Chad Kersten (Haley) of Boone, Iowa; his grandchildren, Luke Kuhl (Allison), Abraham Kuhl (Amanda), Seth Kuhl (Casey), Adam Kuhl (Andrea), Kiley O'Leary (Ryan), Haden Kuhl, Allison Larson and Brandon Kinyon; his brother Neil Kersten of Spokane, Washington; and his sister-in-law Joan Kersten of Fairbanks, Alaska. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
