He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rhoten and Olive Rhoten (Fox); his brothers, James (Velva) and Roy; his siblings-in-law, Ed Fitzgerald, Robert Hart, John Keeven and Beverly Rhoten; and his parents-in-law, Ralph and Blythe Ellsworth.
He is survived by: his sons, Micah John (Susan) of Omaha and David Lee (Stephanie) of Glenwood; his wife Janet Rhoten of Magnolia; his grandchildren, Joshua, Olivia, Edward and Arthur; his siblings, Sarah Fitzgerald of Florida, Agnes Hart, Mary Keeven of Missouri, Tom Rhoten of Washington, Paul (Michelle Rhoten) of Magnolia and Kenneth; and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Ellsworth of Logan, Jim Ball of Missouri and Ellen Rhoten of Omaha. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
