He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Joy and Esta Joy (Baldwin); his son Charles; his stepson Martie; and his brother Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Shepard of Missouri Valley; his daughters, Regina Cunard (Tim) of Missouri Valley, Dianna Gettler (Mark) of Avoca and Kolean Joy of Missouri Valley; his grandchildren, Amanda Lorenzen (John), Derrik Cunard (Ashley), Breanne Johnson (Joshua), Ashley Holben (Joel), Alyssa Fernandez (William), Allan Hopp (Payten) and Brett Hopp (Kate); and his great grandchildren, Lyndsey, Noah, Isaiah, Lainey, Landon, Wyatt, Morgan, Ethan, Emmett, Reese, Myles, Zaiden and Avi. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
