He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Michel and Beulah Michel (Siler); his wife Arlene Michel; his son Dale Michel (Anita); and his granddaughter Amy Michel.
He is survived by: his children, Jodi, Juli, Robin Volkens of Treynor, London Michel of Woodbine and Gary Coenen of Woodbine; and his sisters, Sharon, Reggie Wilson of Woodbine and Carol Points of Woodbine. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
