It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marilyn Elaine (Schantz) Whitney of Winthrop, Iowa, who passed away on September 11, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlton Schantz and Darlene Schantz (Phillips); her brother Donald Schantz; her niece Kathy Jo Schantz; her nephews, Richard, Tim and Tom Schantz; and her parents-in-law, Leonard and Ilene Whitney.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Walton (Kent), Marion, Tracey Bellach (Monty Teel), Jackie Post (Roger) and Wayland Whitney (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Laurie Opperman (Adam), Caleb Walton (Sara), Kasey Bellach, Kody Bellach (Erica), Ethan Walton (Emily), Nathan Post, Nicholas Post (Kim), Marissa Roosa (Trey) and Jack Whitney; her great grandchildren, Emma, Izabella, Alayna Munley, Brayden, Blake Opperman, Quinn, Cora, Mira Walton, Bodhi, Roman and Jaxon Walton; her brothers, Dean Schantz (Kit), Larry Schantz (Linda) and Paul Schantz (Kim); and her siblings-in-law, Pamela Doty (Steven) and Larry Whitney (Kim). She is also survived by her children, facetime her Sons-in-law and Daughter-in-law.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear a mask at the services.
