He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward John and Josephine Gertrude Auer (Heck); and his siblings, George Auer, Leona Voss and Korona Ohlert.
He is survived by: his former wife Peggy Jean Cornwell; his wife Peg Auer of Winthrop; his children, Jim Auer (Deb) of Independence, Scott Auer of Independence, Ed Auer, Jr. (Beth) of Quasqueton and Josie Wessner (Chris) of Quasqueton; his grandchildren, Trent Auer of Mitchellville, Brent Auer of Quasqueton, Eddie Auer III of Ames, Joe Auer of DeSoto, Eric Auer of Independence, Tasha Auer of Independence, Tierney White of St. Paul, MN, Brianna White of Winthrop, Chloe Wessner of Quasqueton and Chase Wessner of Quasqueton; his great grandchild Lexi Kristine Auer; and his siblings, Ralph Auer of Ossian and Angela Hogan of Dubuque. He is also survived by Nieces & Nephews.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear a mask at the funeral home and church.
