He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey August and Nellie Marie Petersen (Hurt); and his siblings, Tommy Petersen, Velma Collins, Lorraine Hartwig, Fred Petersen, Doug Petersen, Richard Petersen and Helen Petersen.
He is survived by: his wife Beckie; his children, Dewey Petersen (Lisa) of Independence, Shane Chesmore of Delhi, Lisa Kirby (Bill) of Coggon and Lori Comstock of Ryan, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Destiny, Trevor, Dewey, Jr., Taylor, Ashton, Paris, Michelle, Katherine, Dan, Amie and Jamie; and his brother Paul Petersen (Nina) of Nashville, Tennessee.. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
