With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas J. Knapp of Winterset, Iowa, who passed away on September 18, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Alma Ellen Knapp (Smiley); his sister Barbara Price; his former wives, Brenda Plumley and Penny Knapp; and his granddaughter Valerie Schiavello.
He is survived by: his children, Jay Lewis Knapp (Andrea) and Hope Renee Knapp; his wife Marty (Farlow); his daughter Katy Dorn; his grandchildren, Samantha Knapp, Chelsea Dorn (Mark Anderson), Chris Dorn, Chase Dorn, Garrett Schiavello (Dani Sayeg), Joey Schiavello and Crystal Schiavello (Breanna Hunt); his great grandchildren, Brook, Emma Bonner, Joseph Schiavello V, Tristen and Penny Slayton; and his siblings-in-law, Frank Farlow and Rosalie Noland.
He suffered from COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, end stage renal failure and Covid and his point of departure was Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA, with his wife of 37 years by his side.
