It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Corkrean of Winterset, Iowa, born in New Sharon, Iowa, who passed away on December 25, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Palmer and Anna Palmer (Van Rheenen); her husband James Eugene "Gene" Corkrean; her sons, John Corkrean and Richard Corkrean; and her brother Bill Palmer.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Corkrean (Nancy) of Winterset, Kathleen Thomas (Terry) of Ankeny, Colleen Ewers (Marc) of Des Moines, Patty Denison (Mike), Terry Corkrean of Ankeny and Laura Adams (Dave) of Ankeny; and her siblings-in-law, Pat Corkrean (Nancy), Larry Corkrean (Debby), Pat Corkrean of Winterset and Mary Corkrean of Winterset. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
