He is survived by: his wife Karen Van Essen of Winterset; his children, Teresa Cullum (Thomas) of Evansville, IN and Randy Van Essen (Mary) of Otley; his stepchildren, Eric Mayer (Carmen) of San Antonio, TX and Diane Leeper (Jim) of Mesa, AZ; and his sisters, Lennie Miller (Marv) of Murfreesboro, TN and Audrey Peterson of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.
