Jim Nelson Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Nelson of James, Iowa, who passed away on March 16, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Elsie Nelson (Nielson); his wife Pat; and his daughter Kirsten. He is survived by: his parent Axel Nelson; his children, Stephne of Winterset, Scott (George) of Des Moines and Ryan (Maggie) of Seattle; his grandchildren, Ashley Nelson, Haley, Colton Stonebarger, Bill, Dan Landis and Jamie Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Alyssa and Natalia Landis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar St. Paul Lutheran Church (1120 N 8th Ave, Winterset, IA 50273). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
