He was predeceased by: his wife Lois; his parents, Agnes Pettit and Ed Pettit; his stepfather Clarence Rudolf; and his siblings, Jerry Pettit and Lucille Meisenheimer.

He is survived by: his siblings, Bill, Dick, Joann and Janice; his son Roger Pettit (Diane) of Wake Forest; his grandchildren, Lauren Aves (Tyler) and Blake; his daughter Dawn Keith of Centennial; his grandchildren, Taylor and Erin; his daughter Deanna Zekkour (Mohamed) of Sugar Land; his grandchildren, Curtis and Sophia; his son Gary Pettit (Linda) of The Colony; and his grandchildren, Lisa Pardo, Ruben, Venny, Isabella, Sarah Gaona-Munoz, Carlos, Isaac, Alaina and Carlos, Jr.. He is also survived by his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the VFW Post 8142 Student Scholarship Fund.
