He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry George Welch and Della Irene Welch (Harris); his wife Florence McCauley Stalheim; and his siblings, Martha Irene Barber, Howard Welch and Dale Welch.

He is survived by: his stepson Marty "Wolf" McCauley.

Memorials may be directed to the Madison County Health Care System.
