He is survived by: his wife Ruth Carden of Winfield; his children, Kevin Smith (Lisa) of Littleton, CO, Douglas Carden (Angela Street) of Mesa, AZ and Shari Mitchell (Dave) of Washington; his grandchildren, Travis Smith, Shelbi Smith, Parker Carden, Megan Mitchell, Kaitlyn Mitchell, Alexa Mitchell and Haley Mitchell; his sister Carolyn Hagge (Don) of Winfield; his sister-in-law Linda Hillier (Norm) of Urbandale; and his nieces and nephews, Jeff Hagge (Krista) of Winfield, Jason Hagge (Gina) of Morning Sun, Kim Booth (Karl Buster) of Morning Sun, Tanya Zuckerman of Urbandale and Leesha Henricksen of Des Moines. He is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.
