It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Hookom of Winfield, Iowa, born in Wayland, Iowa, who passed away on February 11, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert and Adeline Mathieu (Mayenzet); her son Joe; her husband Paul L. Hookom; and her siblings, Frances Haynes, Helen Rosenberg, Eda Seelen, Emma Rehn and Ed Mathieu.

She is survived by: her daughters, Martha Romig (Jim) of Edgewood, Iowa. and Jane Battin (Roger) of Edgewood, Iowa.; her grandchildren, Sara Romig-Martin (Paul), Luke Romig (Tracey), Sam Battin (Kristie) and Laura Battin (Chris Carlson); and her great grandchildren, Carter, Bella Battin, Colleen and Karly Romig.
