She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Leyden and Helen Leyden (Kimmel); her husbands, James L. Morrison and Ed Gappa; her grandsons, Christopher Knerr and Josh Morrison; her great grandchildren, Brandon and Bradley Stover; and her siblings, Phil Leyden, Jim Leyden, Mike Leyden, Mary Davidson and Cheri Sapp.
She is survived by: her children, Penny Johnston (Rocky) of Muscatine, James Morrison (Linda) of Wilton, Lisa Morey (Dennis) of Wilton and Brian Morrison of Durant; her grandchildren, Jennifer Skidmore, Jamie Walker, Joey Stover, Maggie Johnston, Susan McElderry, Jeremy Barney, Melinda Lisk, Cody Knerr and James Morrison; and her siblings, Kim Leyden (Joan) of Washington, Roger Leyden of Washington, Eric Leyden (Sherry) of Ottumwa, Iowa, Jean Sliekers (John) of Waterloo, Treva Kilgore of Washington and Kathy Sulzner (Keith) of Iowa City. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter.
