He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottfried Furler and Elizabeth Furler (Borlin); his sisters, Vivian Hinrichs and Doris Weiss; and his son-in-law Glenn Huedepohl.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Eileen Walter; and his children, Kathy Folkmann (Roger) of Iowa City, Russell Furler (Bonnie) of Marengo, Randy Furler (Kathy) of Austin, TX and Doug Furler of Indianola. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a great great grandson.
