He was predeceased by: his parents, William Meade and Margaret Meade (Ruth); his wife Aileen Veronica Burke; his daughter Susan; and his siblings, Ann Cypra, Helen Meade, Geraldine Meade, William, John, Vernon and Don Meade.
He is survived by: his children, Pat Meade (Mary Jane) of Bettendorf, Shelley Bishop (Phil) of Solon, Denny Meade of Parnell, Tim Meade of Parnell, John Meade (Carol) of Newhall, Steve Meade (Carman) of Olathe, KS, Matt Meade (Courtni) of Lee's Summit, MO and Joe Meade (Carrie) of Parnell; his sister Marge Sauter of Williamsburg; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Meade of Holbrook and Marlene Meade Williamsburg. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Camp Courageous.
