She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip O'Toole and Stella O'Toole (O'Connor); her husband Eugene Joseph Shannahan; and her sons, John and James Shannahan.

She is survived by: her children, Joe Shannahan of Des Moines and Elizabeth Shannahan; and her sisters, Corinne Hargrafen of Columbus Junction and Marilyn Van DeVoorde of Brooklyn.
