He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Coffman and Mildred Coffman; his husband Bert Claypool; his brother-in-law Jim Markowski; and his grandsons, Andy and Ben Coffman.
He is survived by: his sons, Mike (Val) of Belle Plaine, Dave (Dawn) of Williamsburg and Tom (Dawn) of Whitewater, WI.; and his sister Linda Markowski of Fort Meyer. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
