He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Tiernan and Mildred Tiernan (Mason); his brother Richard Tiernan; and his brother-in-law Donnie Donohoe. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Anne Morton; his children, John Tiernan (Patti) of Williamsburg, Robert Tiernan (Regina) of Marion, Michael Tiernan (Susan) of Marion, Susie O'Rourke (Dan) of Williamsburg and Meredith Carter (Chris) of Iowa City; and his sister Mary Ann Donohoe of Parnell. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
