With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald D Olson (Williamsburg, Iowa), born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on June 23, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Olson and Lydia Olson (Zuber); his former wife Sharon Read; and his children-in-law, Cheri Carney and Charles Sandersfeld.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Starks Carney of South Amana; his children, Erin Walter (Dan) of Washington, Illinois and Andy Olson (Mindy) of Moline, Illinois; his stepchildren, Julie Harl (Eldon) of Williamsburg, Brian Carney (Shelly) of Plattsmouth, John Carney of Billings, Montana, Barbara Denison (Eric) of North English, Don Carney (Billy Jo) of Edinburg, Virginia and Kevin Carney (Brenda) of Corpus Christi, Texas; and his sister Jan Sperry (John) of Hiawatha. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
