She was predeceased by: her husband Richard F. Newkirk; her brothers, Ervin (Medora), Willard (Milda), Herbert (Doris), Walter (Esther) and Edgar Heitshusen; and her son-in-law Calvin Koele.
She is survived by: her children, Anna Heitshusen (Baack), Robert and Becky Koele of Aurora, Colorado; her grandson Nathan Koele; her sister Luella Stone (Jim) of Des Moines; and her sister-in-law Alice Heitshusen of Williamsburg.
