She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Popelka and Olive Popelka (Khrounek); and her spouse Arlen Hakeman. She is survived by: her children, Terry (Lynell O'Connor) of Williamsburg and Janet Phipps of Grinnell; her grandchildren, Emily Hakeman, Matthew Hakeman, Kayley Martin, Marie Ryerson and Ken Phipps; and her siblings, Harry Popelka of Vinton, Dennis Popelka of Jacksonville, NC and Sue Klenk of Cedar Rapids.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home-Williamsburg (407 N Highland St, Williamsburg, IA 52361). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (500 Clark St, Williamsburg, IA 52361).
