He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sr. Lane and Marie Lane (Leonard); his grandchildren, Tony Lane and Aubrey Lane; his siblings, James Lane, Dorthea Etherington (Everet), Jean Mossefin (Wallace) and Arleen Blue (Rick); and his brother-in-law Wayne Goodman.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Lane (Kollasch); his children, Cindy Thompson (Bob) of Leland, Gail Adkins (David) of Caledonia and Denny Lane (Jan) of Whittemore, Iowa; his grandchildren, Clarissa Thompson, Jeff Adkins (Courtney), Greg Adkins and AJ Lane; his great grandchild Eleanor Adkins; and his sister LaVon Schattschneider. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
