He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Ostwald and Alma Esther Ostwald (Brass); his wife Gladys; his granddaughter Angela Bergman; his great grandchildren, Jevin and Jaxon Kramer; and his siblings, Eleanor Wagner, Dorothy Kuntz and Charles Ostwald.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Ostwald (Cindy) of Whittemore, Brian Ostwald (Kristen) of Whittemore, Barry Ostwald (Rhonda) of Algona, Beth Buscherfeld (Mike) of Whittemore, Blaine Ostwald (Lisa) and Bradley Ostwald of Whittemore; and his brother Melvin Ostwald (Shirley) of Whittemore. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
