He was predeceased by: his parents, William Stoelk and Bertha Stoelk (Johnson); his wife Bonnie Stoelk; his grandson William Stoelk; and his sister Letty Gerdes (Dale).
He is survived by: his children, Scot Stoelk (Lisa) of Westside, Lisa Clausen (Steve) of Denison, Jim Stoelk (Teresa) of Ankeny and Tim Stoelk (Annette) of Urbandale; his grandchildren, Courtney Fara (Nick), Nicole Ferguson (Joe), Jennifer Nelson (Chris), Ryan, Brittany Rosauer (Kyle), Austin, Samantha, Emma, Katherine, Jessica and Wesley; his close friend Audrey Phillips of Aspinwall; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Eggers of Denison and Alice Christiansen of Denison. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Alfred Rossman American Legion Post 196 in Westside or St. Anthony's Foundation in Carroll.
