He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Pete Maak and Caroline Louise Kock; his stepfather Leslie Jensen; his wife Karen Marie Sahler; and his stepbrother Wallace Jensen (Leta).
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Maak (Becky), Kevin Maak (Marcy) and Ross Maak (Christine Hafen); his grandchildren, Travis Maak (Danielle), Cara Duis (Tucker), Daniel Maak and Nick Dey; his great grandchildren, Bristol Maak, Flynn and Tatum Duis; his sister Marcella Neumann (Edward); his nephew Roger Neumann (Natalie); and his nieces, Sharon Pederson (David), Julie Baker and Jennifer Stroh (Clark).
