It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Schmidt of Westgate, Iowa, born in Richmond, Illinois, who passed away on July 25, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schmidt and Bertha Schmidt (Grandt). He is survived by: his children, Pam Herbig of Farmington, Mark Schmidt of Pocahontas, Clarice Schmidt of San Antonio and Carlyle Schmidt (Susan) of Westgate; and his grandchildren, Emma Schmidt of Waverly, Kaytelyn Schmidt of Oelwein and Karlynn Schmidt of Westgate.
