He is survived by: his wife Alice Hackmann; his friend Castalia; his children, Dawn Diehl (Michael) of Oskaloosa and Ben (Denise) of Hawkeye, Iowa; his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Joshua, Ian and Jonas; his sisters, Edna Ahlgren (Al) of California, Ann Aders of California and Phyllis Menne of Wisconsin; his sister-in-law Rita (Hageman) of Wisconsin; his brothers, Richard (Kathy) of West Union and Larry Menne (Millie Kalvelage) of Decorah; and his aunt Mageline Wieling (Ralph). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
